When it rains, NY City offers subways filled with gushing rivers, swollen streets, and a normally ambulatory population of dull shut-ins. But in Bobbie's New England, when it rains, the landscape fills with giddy chickens, exuberant pigs and a massive, slow-moving caravan of sexually charged immigrant earthworms overrunning the surface soil boudoir with the urge to procreate. Could one wish for a better competing reality than this—on the last day in September? Raining in the company of worms on this day definitely offers a great alternative to knitting in the company of sheep! May all the keen, competitive knitters enjoy this wonderful essay. Thank you Bobbie.
